“Big data is a term that describes large, hard-to-manage volumes of data – both structured
and unstructured – that inundate businesses on a day-to-day basis. But it’s not just the type
or amount of data that’s important, it’s what organizations do with the data that matters. Big
data can be analyzed for insights that improve decisions and give confidence for making
strategic business moves” (SAS, 2021).
Is your organisation using actionable insights from its data to support strategic decisions?
This module will equip with the functional knowledge required to put a data strategy for your
organisation in place, empower you with the awareness of the talent and skills you need to
implement your data strategy more effectively, and give you a practical experience of the
digital economy by way of case studies. The participant will be exposed to relevant
techniques that will further develop their data abilities, thereby equipping them to better
implement digital transformation projects, run effective digital marketing campaigns, and put
together data strategies that are aligned to the corporate strategy.
This series of lectures on International Business and Innovation covers a range of topics, from doing business across borders to essential background study before you start – then onto strategies a firm can adopt, entry strategies and last but not least concludes with a session on giving yourself the best chance of winning your deals. There are, in addition, man other topics covered, including seemingly small sets of activities – but which may yet have a significant impact.
Hopefully these lectures will help those already involved in foreign ventures compare notes (the facilitator has more than 40 years of local South African as well as international business experience) and encourage those who are contemplating a move abroad to understand essential elements involved.
